Section 5 Start a Journey
ОглавлениеWith his eyes wide open, Salvador fell. He would never have believed that anyone in the world had applied magic to such an extent, and even more so, that he could fall down here so easily – but he had no chance of ever turning it over.. Not far from him, two pieces of pork, tainted with the poison from the dagger, fell to the ground. It was they that bore the terrible blow in place of the Felix, and also let the blow that el Salvador had given with all his spirit and strength be completely destroyed. Salvador suffered a great psychological breakdown while his mind was shaking, only to be knocked down in one fell swoop by Felix who had been hiding behind.
Staring at the dead body on the ground, Felix sighed silently. He bent down and stroked the killer’s still open eyes. With a strange gesture of clasping his hands, he recited the ancient language, which was difficult to understand, and prayed for the blessing of his opponent.
“A man’s life is but a hundred years. Even if there are thousands of riches and glory, ten thousand kinds of glory, in the end, into a passing cloud…”
A low voice, echoing through the dimly lit tavern, diffused his lamented mood faintly. He didn’t want to kill anyone, and he didn’t want to get too involved in all these worldly rivalries. For to the minstrel, every life in the world, whatever they are and whatever identity they have, is precious. If one cannot respect them, then one is also not respecting oneself. So, although Felix still tried to perform his technique when the assassin appeared, making him retreat knowing that it was difficult. Unfortunately, his stubbornness makes the battle happen after all. In the end, it still turned out the way he had expected.
“You…… Who the hell are you?”
A teenage voice mixed with complex emotions interrupted his thoughts. He turned and saw Livia’s eyes, still fixed on him, waiting for his reply. No one would believe that an anonymous minstrel could easily defeat the killer who comes out of the field. In this case, Felix’s identity, then, is highly questionable.
But he just smiled softly.
“As I already said, my name is Felix, just a wandering minstrel tralling aroud the world. We cannot stay in this place any longer. Are you going to follow me out of the city first and figure it out, or are you going to take care of this on your own?”
Smiling as usual, Felix said. “If we wait a little longer, his companion should find out that things are not good. In time, things may get out of control. Could you give me an answer as soon as possible? It’s hard for me to get involved in other people’s business.”
The brother and sister looked at each other, exchanging ideas in their eyes. Yoshi is still young and has no social experience. But Livia is different. Though she could not see the subtlety of the battle, she knew clearly that Salvador was no ordinary man.
When the former Solanian court tried to break away from the control of the Kingdom of Agra, a number of ministers and generals died of a mysterious “sudden illness”. People couldn’t find the slightest evidence of it.It was not until the eve of her forced departure that the domestic Mages Guild, using a special technique of examining the victim’s pupil image, was able to find out part of the truth.
And inside the last thing those people saw, more than half of it was Salvador. He could easily assassinate the battle-hardened general from the heavily guarded court and still walk away. The strength of this man is evident. But such a person, in front of this seemingly ordinary minstrel, was powerless to fight back.
Who is this mysterious man?
She looked up at Felix’s crystal lavender eyes. His eyes were as clear and transparent as they had been when they first met. There was so much in him that she could not see or read. But she was still sure that the man in front of her would never do harm to herself, nor take advantage of her and her younger brother’s identity.
That’s enough. Trust, sometimes does not need a reason.
Once again exchanging glances with her brother, Livia nodded softly.
“We’re going with you.”
