Who is Chihaysu?

Date . . . May 19th

Hi Tim,

I am sorry for not writing for a while. After the meeting with Chihaysu, we asked our schoolteacher about him. Is he one of the Mountain People? He does not really look like them but neither does he resemble a Valley Person.

The teacher said that a generation ago the Mountain People were dispersing into different villages. This dispersion was beginning to move northwest towards an uninhabited area known as Stone Woods. The Ruler asked them to come to the valley to register so he could understand where they resided. The Ruler was nervous about this expansion into an area not far from the homes of the Valley People.

This registration had an impact. Many Mountain People met and decided it was best to move back together towards the mountain region. There is now one major village and three smaller ones. The Ruler was extremely pleased and considered the registration a success. There is a rumor, my teacher said, that Chihaysu was born during this time of registration and, since it was an unstable time, it is unclear who his parents were.

Chihaysu has not appeared at Lake Gael since I last wrote. We, particularly the Valley Youth, hope to see him again.

Your friend,

Mattpaul

Greetings,

Let me share more information. Though we have not seen Chihaysu for a while, our teacher told us something interesting. He said there is a rumor that Chihaysu visited one of the small communities on the northeast side of the Lake Gael. All the communities are having trouble with a disease called AHT. This disease makes people feel dizzy and tired, falling into a sleep that can last all day. We have medical equipment to diagnose diseases in Caperston, but this disease is new, and the equipment has yet to clearly diagnosis the ailment and a cure is, therefore, unknown.

The rumor is that there was a girl, named Dawnling, who had the AHT disease for many days. She is a year away from completing school and her cousin is Marcus, who taught us how to “head” the ball in the kickuml game. Chihaysu told her parents to pray to God for healing.

They asked Chihaysu to pray with them and the next day she was better, no longer feeling dizzy and tired. Our teacher said that this suggests that praying may do more than to bring peace to the person praying. If the rumor is true, prayer may result in God intervening to make things better.

I look forward to learning more about what happened. I am sure someone will ask Chihaysu the next time he visits us. Huchfee heard that he is coming to Lake Gael in a few days.

Dear Mattpaul.

My name is Alex. I live on Earth and, while searching the Internet, I discovered Tim’s website and your letters. I really appreciate how honest you are. You tell us not only what has happened but how you feel about it. I envy you. You have met Chihaysu and heard him speak. We only know of our Jesus by what was written about him. I love your stories.

Please keep writing and sharing. When something happens of interest here on earth, I promise to share it with you.

It is nice to meet you Alex,

Hopefully, this message will arrive. I tried two times since my last letter, and it appears the messages did not go through. So, I worry.

Chihaysu did visit Lake Gael a few days ago. My father asked me to go and take notes. So, I went with Huchfee. When we arrived, we found my sister, Rachaeling, and her friend, Michaeling, already present. Michaeling told me that, after she heard the boat story, she thought that it was a story everyone should hear. She asked me about my visit to the village, the kickuml game and what I thought of their youth who hit the ball with their heads. I said, “They won and did not break the rules.” Michaeling said that in kickuml they were smarter than we were and maybe we can teach them things we know, and they can do the same. My sister was listening and, when we finished, she whispered something to Michaeling then winked at me. Michaeling seemed very interested and, besides, she is pretty.

Chihaysu talked about the Mountain People. They built their houses into rock, often the side of the mountain. Then he spoke of the Valley People, who build their house on the shore of the lake. Their homes are beautiful, but when the winds blow and the storms arrive, which house is safer? We all said, “The Mountain House.” Chihaysu said that building a house into the mountainside is like living your life with God holding you up. When storms of life come, God is there to keep you strong. Others depend only on themselves. They are like the house on the lake. When difficulties come, there is no support for them.

Michaeling asked Chihaysu how we can get support from God. Chihaysu reminded us about prayer and believing that God can provide us courage when needed. I asked about the young woman who became healthy after prayer and Chihaysu said that we should never doubt the things God can do.

That is an idea that I like. So does my sister, Rachaeling. I am glad she brought her friend Michaeling.
