Although it should not be denied that this market is more accessible, threshold for entering it is minimal, unlike the securities market.

We started with Bitcoin then worked with Ethereum.

Before this book was born, we had lost several thousands dollars for two.

Maxim: “Before I started working with crypto, I was engaged in various types of businesses – construction, catering, consulting. My path to crypto was not the easiest one: once I lost all my investments. I bought Ripple, watching how the market was gaining momentum, but then due to a jump in exchange rates I lost almost 6 thousand dollars. I quickly withdrew the funds left and was incredibly glad that quitted. But this story did not make me study the cryptocurrency market and its processes.

The most important lesson I learned after a couple of years of working in cryptocurrencies: there is no easy and quick money. To be an expert, you need to understand how the world of the blockchain works, what influences it. Beginners’ biggest mistake is desire to raise quick dough. No, this is not how it works.

Over time, I began to understand not at the average level but at the professional level. The market is alive; it has its own dynamics. You need to know when it makes sense to penetrate, and when you need to leave quickly.

If you want to do cryptocurrency, I congratulate you. This is a good decision. Whatever skeptics may say, blockchain is the technology of the future.

As you begin to delve into this subject, you will get a huge amount of knowledge in various subjects which you will then apply to your life. While working with cryptocurrencies, I have begun to understand how the media works, how they manipulate the news. I see what a prospect is in smart contracts, in the future they will help to execute any transactions, ranging from leasing cars to selling real estate. It will be possible to remove unnecessary intermediaries with their help.

Cryptocurrencies are good as a payment method. Imagine that the whole currency is over; there is neither a ruble nor a dollar. But there is Bitcoin or several cryptocurrencies. You can pay with them; they can be exchanged, bypassing the banks, bypassing expensive SWIFTs.

Savings can be stored in cryptocurrencies.

More you know about crypto, the more you delve into this topic, understand, learn it, the higher your value on the market as a specialist will be.

It is not necessary to invest and compile portfolios. “Bitcoin” can be used as a means to store savings.

There is such a saying: at first, people laugh, then fall silent, then people have nowhere to go. And this is natural for any new technology. People used to laugh when they bought pizza for bitcoins. Vyacheslav: “I gave to military 10 years of my life, I studied for 5 years, I served for 5 years in Crimea. Then I quit, tried various earnings and businesses: trade, mediation, catering, consulting.

When we met with Maxim, I already had an office. We were advising on various financial products. There were different affiliate programs, we were earning as intermediaries, and it turned out pretty well. How did we get into crypto? We were developing our own cryptocurrency. Just in 2015, Ethereum just appeared. We were conducting the technical part of one project, and it needed the inner cryptocurrency. We were working with the Ambisafe team at that time; they have now succeeded and they are doing ICO projects on their own platform. It was with them that that cryptocurrency was created which still exists somewhere.

In late 2015 – early 2016, my immersion into the world of cryptocurrency began.

In January 2016, I bought 50 bitcoins, converted them to Ethereum, and invested everything in ICO TheDAO. It was the largest ICO, which raised a lot of money, tens of millions. Only Ethereum had about 30—40% of its total. That ICO was very successful. But at one point it was hacked. After this story, Ethereum divided into two currencies. And so-called Ethereum Classic appeared.

It was then that I realized firsthand, what it was like when all your funds were invested in one place, what it was like not to diversify them, but just to put everything in one project. By that rate this mistake cost me more than 10 thousand dollars. But if we recalculate it with the current Ethereum rate (ed. – at the end of June 2018, the rate is about 416—420 USD), then this is a huge amount of money.

But I was lucky, I managed to get the coins back and even a bit of Ethereum Classic.

The information you will read in this book cost us at least tens of thousands of dollars. And you get it absolutely for free. Well, or for symbolic amount of money.

Everything you will read in this book is the result of our experience, sometimes sad, sometimes successful. But definitely we are not theorists, we are practitioners.
