Everywhere she goes, Marie shows off her paintbox and brush. She paints dots on everything. Cherries, leaves, branches, nothing is safe! Then she flies onto the house of a snail.

“Hello Snail, I’m Marie. What’s your name?“

“Hello, Marie. I’m Elfy, the snail”, answers Elfy slowly.

“Your house is wonderful, Elfy. I’ll paint one or two dots on it”, says Marie excitedly.

Before Elfy could say any more, Marie paints her snail house with orange dots. Elfy turns around and is very angry: “Marie, I do not like to have these dots on my shell. Please stop painting immediately!”

“But why Elfy. With all the dots, your snail shell looks even more beautiful!” Marie just keeps painting and this makes Elfy really, really angry. She shakes her snail house to and fro. Marie and her paintbox almost fall off.

“My beautiful beautiful shell doesn’t look beautiful anymore!”, moans Elfy.

Elfy is very very unhappy and slides away slowly. Marie takes her paintbox and flies off.
