Als directeur van de SCHAUFLER Academy, het eigen

opleidingscentrum van BITZER, ligt kennisoverdracht

mij natuurlijk na aan het hart. Onze branche beschikt

ook over veel interessante technische boeken. Voor

nieuwkomers is echter nog een slag te winnen en

aangezien onze industrie c.q. ons bedrijf wereldwijd

actief is, hebben wij ons boek in meerdere talen laten

vertalen. De geïnteresseerde lezer kan zich dus

uitvoerig laten informeren en leert tegelijkertijd het

technische jargon in het Nederlands en het Engels

Alle nieuwe BITZER-medewerkers, of ze nu op

Finance, Controlling, IT of op een andere afdeling

buiten ons vakgebied werken, krijgen van het

Academy-team een spoedcursus in koel- en

klimaattechniek. Om de kennis op peil te houden,

hebben wij dit technische boek ontwikkeld als

naslagwerk.

Ik denk dat het belangrijk is dat onze medewerkers

iets weten over het werkterrein van hun onderneming

en zich ermee te identificeren. Daarom, en om

belangstellenden meer inzicht te geven in dit boeiende

onderwerp, is dit boek tot stand gekomen.

Een dergelijk project is natuurlijk een gezamenlijke

onderneming met vele helpende handen. Mijn

bijzondere dank gaat uit naar Rainer Burger,

Michael Stalter en Prof. Johannes Reichelt van TWK

(Test- Weiterbildungszentrum Wärmepumpen und

Kältetechnik GmbH), zonder wie dit boek nooit tot stand

was gekomen. Daar heb ik meer dan 26 jaar geleden

aan de hand van hun basiscursussen mijn eerste

stappen in de koeltechniek gezet.

Ook mijn collega‘s dr. Heinz Jürgensen en Michael

Schwarz verdienen hier lof, evenals mijn gehele team,

in het bijzonder Angela Müller en Tanja Hagenmeyer,

die mij niet alleen hebben ondersteund, maar er ook

voor hebben gezorgd dat het auteursteam zich op hun

schrijfwerk kon concentreren.

Ik zou dit boek ook willen opdragen aan mijn

gewaardeerde collega, mentor en altijd interessante

gesprekspartner Hermann Renz en hem mijn

bijzondere dank willen betuigen. Hij is onder meer

de auteur van het inmiddels 21 keer verschenen

As the director of the SCHAUFLER Academy,

BITZER’s very own training centre, knowledge trans-

fer is of course, for me, a labour of love. There is also

a multitude of great reference books in our industry.

We still have to close the gap for newcomers and

because our industry and our company are active on

a global basis, we have created a bilingual version.

Readers who are interested can inform themselves

extensively and learn the technical jargon in both

German and English.

All new BITZER employees – regardless of whether

they work in finance, controlling, information technol-

ogy or another department that is more outside of our

subject area – are given a crash course in refriger-

ation and air conditioning technology by the team at

the academy. So that the knowledge is not lost, we

have developed this reference book, allowing you to

read up again on what you have learned.

I think it is important that you know a bit about the

area of operation of your company and identify with

it, too. This book resulted for this reason and to give

anyone that is interested in the topic an understand-

ing of this exciting subject area.

Such a project is of course a joint venture with many

helping hands. I would especially like to thank

Reichelt from TWK (Test- und Weiterbildungszentrum

Wärmepumpen und Kältetechnik GmbH), who came

up with the basic principles of this book. That is where

I took my first steps in the area of refrigeration over

26 years ago with their basic courses.

also made sure the team of authors could focus on
