CAIRN TERRIER

This feisty little dog is one of the oldest terrier breeds, originating in the Western Isles of Scotland as early as the 1600s. With their tenacious hunting skills and fearless attitude, Cairn Terriers were bred to control vermin on the Isle of Skye, and named after the man-made pile of rocks know as a cairn. Used as memorials or landmarks, cairns made perfect hiding places for vermin – rich hunting ground for this tiny terrier! You will also recognise him as Dorothy's dog Toto from The Wizard of Oz.
