ОглавлениеCHAPTER 7: Humble New Mexican Roots
Roberto Maestas took pride in being an underdog. No one who looked at Roberto’s humble beginnings would have predicted any measure of success for a kid from a small New Mexico village. For Roberto, adversity was a way of life. He never knew his parents. He grew up on the poor side of town, having to share food and space with an extended family of seventeen. And when he decided that he was old enough to leave, he left on a journey to find himself. It was a journey, not only geographically but spiritually and politically, that Roberto undertook that eventually led to Seattle, Washington.
