Tools: Miscellaneous Consumables and Implements

Оглавление

In a book like this, it’s impossible for me to talk about and describe every single thing that you may possibly need along the way. It’s also likely counterintuitive to do so. Just know that there will be a number of basic items that will make building easier, and I consider these things to be standard equipment in anyone’s toolbox. These items include measuring tapes, pliers, hammers, screwdrivers, carpenter squares, box cutters, clamps, saw horses, utility knives, caulking, and so on.

You will use these on an as-needed basis; many of them you’ll only use once, and they are not going to break the bank. In fact, you may already have a few of these things already. Try to borrow what you can from friends, family, or coworkers. These are the basics of any work that you do, whether you are building a birdhouse or an actual house. All of these items together should cost no more than $100.

Clamps, pencils, hammer, utility knives, etc.: you’ll know when you need them. These are a kind of baseline minimum when you are building anything.
