The radiators in these towers rarely put out decent heat. Many times they gave off no heat. The colder it was outside, the less heat you got off of them.

When I went to work, I took a lunch that I prepared at home that I could snarf up quickly and easily when I got the chance. When I knew I was going to be working in a tower, I brought items to assemble. There was a lot of time to kill, so any little thing to break the monotony was beneficial to keep my mind alert. I had received a tip that bringing hot dogs in aluminum foil and heating them on the radiator worked at times. It sounded good, so I tried it. When the radiator was giving off heat, it took quite a while, but at least it was something different. When the radiator wasn’t working, I just had cold hot dogs. That was alright too. I just looked at it as a strangely shaped bologna sandwich.
