Chapter 10. Absolute. Love

Оглавление

The alarm clock rang – it was time to get up. I wanted to lie at least a couple of minutes to watch the dream… It seems I was dreaming a cafe. What was I doing there? The dream dissolved, and I no longer remembered it. The mood was good. I felt well rested and cheerful. Sitting on the bed, I was pulled with pleasure, wanted to turn on the music, which I did.

Dancing to the music, I went to the bathroom to wash up and take a shower. After a bath, I wanted to eat something special in the kitchen. I found ice cream in the freezer – just what I wanted. Thaw it in a microwave for a little bit, grate the chocolate on top, pour the nuts – mmm…, a pleasure. That’s all. I have left ice cream and started making coffee. Cream for it was not, they ended yesterday, but the coffee ice cream was even better.

I ate and savored every bite. All my senses are heightened – probably, love affects a man that way. I enjoyed every moment of this morning, every sip of coffee, a spoon of ice cream. It was a state of euphoria.

I washed the dishes after breakfast. Dancing again, I returned to the room and began to choose what to wear. Today I didn’t want to put on favorite jeans, which I usually dressed. The woman woke up in me, and, looking through my closet, I chose a dress of bright scarlet color. Is it too defiantly? I go to work, not to have fun, but I wanted it!

I remembered the expression “something is not allowed – one has a great wish – then it is allowed!” I had a chain with a pendant in the shape of a snake for this dress – I wore the dress and it. While I was drying my hair after a shower, I decided not to do the tail. I have left to tint the eyes, apply bright lipstick to match the dress and perfume.

When I finished, I liked my reflection in the mirror very much. Arthur called, he was already downstairs in the yard, and I still had to find shoes to the dress. I told him that I was going to him, and tried to remember where the kitten heel can be, and I also needed another bag. Yay! I found right shoes and bag. Donning my coat, I almost ran out of the house without a folder with pictures, leaving playing music. Quickly I returned home, turned off the music, took the folder and went down to Arthur, closing the door of the apartment.

He obviously didn’t expect to see me like this. I threw myself on his neck, kissed him. He hugged me, and we stood in a long kiss. It is funny, but at this point, I was afraid to smear lipstick. I pulled away from him, wiped the lipstick from his lips and taking from the bag a pocket mirror, looked at my face. It happened, I smeared it a bit.

“Let’s go.”

Already in the car, I redid my lipstick, examined my face picky to check if everything is in order, corrected a snake on the chest and were satisfied.

“You’re entirely different, very beautiful today.”

A compliment from my beloved – what could be better!

I turned to him, looked with love, and caught him a reciprocal look of love. We almost crashed into another car. Arthur stopped abruptly. He got there in time otherwise we would not have avoided the accident. I touched his hand,

“I’m sorry I distracted you.”

“Don’t worry, nothing happened.”

After that, Arthur was no longer distracted and took us to the business center without incident. He quickly got out of the car, walked around it and gave me his hand, helping out. When we were entering the office company, my hand still was in his hand.

In the office, we were greeted by Irina. She could not refrain from exclaiming,

“Alexandra, you look beautiful today!”

“Irina, good day!” I replied.

“Good morning, Irina!” Arthur said.

We went to the office of Arthur. Bag, folder, put off my coat….

We again embraced, kissed him, and froze. It seemed to me that my heart is beating too hard, and now pops out of me, and the heart of Arthur I felt as mine as if it was beating in my chest. Native, close, dear man….

It was difficult for us to pull away from each other; our thoughts were not about work. When we finally did it, I noticed that Arthur’s eyes were sparkling, the light in his eyes was coming from inside. It was lovely!

“Your eyes shine,” Arthur said.

“It is with joy that you’re here,” I replied. Hence, my eyes, too, were sparkling with joy.

Coping with our emotions, we went to the mini kitchen to say Hello to everybody and to determine the work plan today. All drew attention to my red dress. I think else everyone noticed the sparkle in our eyes. We have become the center of attention involuntarily.

“Sasha, you are irresistible,” Armen Georgievich gave me a compliment.

“You are such a beautiful couple,” other staff said.

Maxim coughed, returning attention to the work issues, but he also looked at us with interest. Vasily and Yegor already went back in the office – as it turned out, not for long because sales managers reported about new clients. Armen Georgievich reported on the situation with supply on current orders. Accountant Galina Semyonovna told about the payments, which she did and about received money. Maxim said about set deadlines to have time to fulfill some orders. Today Vasily, Maxim, and Arthur had to drive up to the facility to donate performed work to the customer representative and sign the act of executed works because all equipment of the security system already was installed and connected. Maxim didn’t ask me about my job this morning, and I just listened to the other employees. The meeting was over; all dispersed to their jobs.

“Arthur, Vasily, let’s go now,” said Maxim.

They left on the object; I went to the office of Arthur, took the pictures from the folder, looked through them. Taking the blank sheets and a pencil, I began to develop a logo. First, I wrote a chain of words, not knowing where it came from in my head: “Security system, protection, control, thread, person, Absolute.”

I drew a man sitting at a desk – hands in front of him, and instead of legs words “control” and “protection.” Writing “Absolute” right vertically, I held a pencil “line-threads” between each letter “control” and his right hand, each letter “protection” and his left hand. Something wasn’t right. What if I write “control” and “protection” vertically on the sides, also drawing a “line-threads” between them and hands of the man, and “Absolute” will be at the bottom? I drew – this was even worse than the previous version. I decided to replace threads on rectangular buttons with labels “control” and “protection,” and index fingers of the right and the left hands began to “press” buttons.

After that, I also “removed” rectangular buttons with labels. Drawing one after the other options, every time, I removed something extra and, as a result, I left one right hand; her index finger pointed to the rectangle above it. I wrote “security system” in the rectangle, and in large letters “Absolute” below under the hand. I left the office to rest. The clock on the wall above the reception desk of Irina showed the beginning of the third; the lunch had already passed. Irina was talking with some guy. I walked past to the toilet and on the way back, asked her who it was.

“He is an employee of the company that provides services security in our office.”

“Services security?” I found it strange that we use the services of another company to protect its office.

“Yes, all the business center has signed a contract with it for the protection of offices after hours. That guy checked the alarm system – a scheduled inspection.”

“How often such inspections occur?”

“This is the first checks for the year that we are here.”

I went back to the office Arthur, looked at my sketches for the logo, tried to replace the rectangle on a schematic image of the house in the last version – it looked worse than it was. Then I took a blank sheet of paper and again drew a rectangle and under it the right hand of the man as if it points to this rectangle. I wrote in large print “Absolute” in the rectangle and added in two lines a smaller font “security system” under the hand.

When the drawing was ready, I put it aside. Thoughts flowed randomly: how many time our men will be meeting outside the city? I miss Arthur. I’m hungry; some candy would now….

I took my bag, searched it and found a peppermint candy – as well, I am thrifty. I unwrapped the bonbon and put it in my mouth with pleasure. Probably, soon the men will come back. Meanwhile, I decided to finish my outline for employees; it was quite a bit of work.

I came to Irina with ready-made sketches and showed it to her first.

“You’ve got a talent, Alexandra. I would want to draw so too. Oh, I took a figure with me home; it’s still there.”

“He’s already yours; I gave it to you. Your loved ones liked it?”

“Yes, they said it’s very similar. Thank you.”

“You are welcome. I’ll go to give the rest of the drawings.”

I went through rooms of the office, giving my drawings colleagues. For Yegor, was a surprise that I painted him and Vasily when they were in the manor outside of the city. Everyone from the office wanted to see his image and the images of his colleagues. The people began to go to rooms to visit each other, the sound of laughter was here and there. My thoughts were far away. Something strange happened to me. Although it was my pictures, I almost didn’t listen to what they said guys, and waited, when Arthur with Maxim and Vasily will return.

I had heard Irina welcomed returning from the object men, and came toward them.

“We passed the object,” Maxim said. “We can celebrate this event the entire firm for the weekend. Irina, you must know how the guys with days off, and decide where we will celebrate. The answers should be ready tomorrow evening.”

“Well, I’ll do, Maxim Vitalyevich,” Irina replied.

I walked up to Arthur and took him by the hand, and together we walked into his office. Barely staying alone, we again embraced and kissed.

“How are you here without me?” asked Arthur, when we broke away from each other.

“Well, I tried to draw the logo, then finished the drawings of the guys and gave them. And how are you?”

“You know; I can’t believe we made such a complicated order. We go to a higher level, Sasha! I can feel it,” Arthur said and added,

“Did you eat anything? Let’s go have lunch and then see what you’ve done with the logo.”

I put on my jacket, and we went to the “Home cooking.” During lunch, Arthur said:

“Let’s have dinner together?”

“You’re not going to stay on the job?”

“No, today I will be with you. I think now nothing can stop it. If you agree, of course.”

“I agree. I feel happy.”

“Then it’s settled.”

Happiness overwhelmed me. I loved and felt loved, desirable. I don’t remember how we came out after lunch to the street and returned to the office. Everything happened as if in a dream. I held onto Arthur’s arm and felt its warmth. We were in his office. He hugged and kissed me, then helped remove his jacket. We had to “take ourselves in hand” and get back to work.

“Show, what have you done with the logo?”

“Yes, the papers on the desk. Look how many variants I tried. Until I came to this,” I showed Arthur all versions of the sketches for the logo as well as the house and the person that painted yesterday and singled out the latest version of the logo.

“I think you did a good job. As an option, maybe. Come on; we’ll show your sketches to Maxim,” Arthur said. “I go now to him to find out whether he is ready to see it.”

Arthur came out the room, then came back and said,

“Take the sheets, and went.”

We went to Maxim and sat down to the table. I put my sketches in front of him. Maxim watched them carefully, slowly; a few minutes passed before he took a sheet, where was the last option.

“The latter is the most concise. Let’s come back to this tomorrow. Alexandra, do I keep this sketch?” Maxim asked.

“Yes, of course, Maxim Vitalyevich,” I answered.

We went from the cabinet of Maxim and only approached to the room of Arthur, as Arthur, remembering something, turned to Irina, sitting at the reception desk,

“Irina, please, do a copy of the key from the office for me.”

“Today?”

“You can do it tomorrow.”

“Well, I’ll do, Arthur Borisovich.”

When we entered his office, Arthur said:

“Imagine; yesterday, when Maxim and I were coming out from work, I couldn’t find my key. Max closed the door his key. I have no ideas, where could it disappear? Later, I couldn’t find it either in the office no in the car no at home.”

“When the key could disappear?”

“The day before yesterday I closed our office with my key. It means, I lost it yesterday. I usually keep it in the pocket of the suit. Okay, maybe it will reveal itself… Do you want me to show you our photos from various holidays? You will see how to develop the company.”

“Of course, yes.”

Arthur turned on the laptop, and we began to look at photos. At first, I saw only Max and Arthur. After a few months, as it turned out, Armen Georgievich started to work with them. They lured him out of the company, where all three worked before.

Then there was a girl named Oksana. She came to work on the vacancy of an office manager for the firm. Following a full-time employee became the accountant Galina Semyonovna that Armen Georgievich has led; he worked with her once. Oksana married less than six months and resigned from the company. After that, Galina Semyonovna has led Irina to the vacant place of the office manager.

Five people: Maxim, Arthur, Armen Georgievich, Galina Semyonovna, and Irina, celebrated the first birthday of the company. Irina just started working with them. The apartment that Maxim had inherited from his grandmother was their office at that time. Two months later Maxim and Arthur hired sale managers and employees for the installation of security systems. The apartment was already small for everyone, and they rented this office and moved into it.

Looking at the photos, I saw Arthur mostly, listening to his story and tried to feel what he felt. We did not notice how fast time flew. Maxim looked us in the room,

“Are you going to come home? All gone.”

It was seven o’clock in the evening, almost. We quickly gathered and went out with Maxim. Saying good-bye in the parking lot with him, we went to dinner.

Arthur took us to a small cozy restaurant, where I chose sea bass in salt and refused to garnish. Arthur ordered another for me to fish white wine and cheeses, and for itself – meat and grilled vegetables and mineral water. Later, we took tea and at my request, chocolate fondant is a cake with ice cream; cupcake has inside a hot chocolate. I tried it for the first time on vacation with my parents. Then I was in awe of it! And today we ate it, looking at each other with loving eyes. I didn’t know if he liked such desserts… I felt happy as a child with the family and loved ones.

It was an unforgettable evening… after the restaurant, we went to my house and together went up to me. Barely entering the apartment, we hugged and stood in the hallway, merged in a kiss. It got hot; I freed myself from his embrace,

“Let’s come in.”

Arthur helped me off with my coat, and, leaving shoes in the hallway, we went into the living room. My heart pounded; I didn’t know how to behave, what me to do. I showed him the apartment and then spent it in my room and turned on the light in it. There was the drawing on the desk that I painted it in the park recently, with a guy and a girl on a swing. That day, Arthur drove to the park and watched as I finished the job. And then there, in the park, we had an evening together and have so much told each other….

Arthur approached the desk and looked at my drawing. Staying at the doorway, I watched him. I liked every feature of his appearance. I fell in love and felt happy. “The mind manages objects, and senses rule the mind”2 – I remembered the words of the famous doctor, academician Amosov that my mom once read to me. Amosov wrote this words in one of his books, remembering the experiment to create artificial intelligence.

Mom, dad, sorry, I can’t introduce them to Arthur, tell them how happy I am, and share my joy with them…. Arthur sat down at my desk. Taking the picture in his hands, he examined it, then laid, turned to me on the chair, and looked at me. What magic occurs between a man and a woman when they fall in love? Senses control the mind….

I approached him; he drew me to itself, put to itself on knees, and hugged.

“Sasha, you’re beautiful,” he quietly said. “I love you. I want you to be with me; I want us to be together.”

“And I love you.”

I clung to him, hugged his neck. He kissed my temple, my cheek, behind his ear, touched his lips to my neck. The chain prevented; I tried to unbutton it to take off; Arthur helped me. I helped him remove his jacket; I wanted to kiss him….

That night, we said each other many tender words of love; we loved each other, feel each other every cell of itself body. The magic of love, when every touch of a loved one causes indescribable delight, and everyone is trying to do the other to feel good, and then the boundary between “thou and I” disappears: there is only “we,” and the pleasure wave after wave permeates both of us….

We fell asleep only in the morning, hugging each other.
