Double-Fold Binding
Оглавление1 | Fold the fabric strip in half lengthwise, right side out, and press lightly.
2 | Starting somewhere along one edge of the quilt, pin the binding to the quilt, leaving a tail.
3 | Stitch, using a ¼-inch (0.75-cm) seam allowance, until you are ¼ inch (0.75 cm) from the corner. Reverse stitch and break off the thread.
4 | Fold the binding away from the quilt at a right angle and then fold it back down on itself, matching the edge of the binding with the edge of the quilt.
5 | Starting ¼ inch (0.75 cm) from the corner, stitch to the next corner and repeat. Continue in this way until you are back where you started.
6 | Fold back the two ends. Finger-press and then stitch together along the creases. Trim back to ¼ inch (0.75 cm).
7 | Turn the binding over the edge to the back of the quilt and slip-stitch down, covering the machine stitches. At the corners, miters will fall on both the front and back.
