ОглавлениеIn September 2011, Tropical Storm Lee caused local
streams, creeks, and rivers to rise to record levels in
Lancaster County, Pa. The storm caused hundreds of
thousands of dollars in flood-related damage.
Shannon Flowers, a long-time Fox Chapel
Publishing employee and the editor of
Woodcarving
Illustrated
magazine, fled her home as flood waters
rose through the basement and three feet high on
the main level. Her family lost everything on those
two floors. They have spent many months renovating
their home and recovering a sense of normalcy.
In response, Fox Chapel Publishing sold Grab-
Bags of books and donated 100% of the proceeds to
Shannon and the fire department in Mount Joy, Pa.
The benefit raised $7,166.40. The fire department
donated its share of the proceeds to Shannon and her family.
Our thanks to all of the readers who responded to the benefit
and helped Shannon and her family rebuild.
[Ed. Note: Due to the timing, the Grab-Bags were
only offered via our website. Sign up for our e-newsletter
