Dayton (Ohio) Artistry in Wood
Photos by Marc Featherly
The Artistry in Wood show, sponsored by the Dayton (Ohio)
Carvers Guild, will be held November 10 and 11, 2012, at the
Dayton International Expo Center. More than 200 woodcarvers
and woodworkers display and sell their work, including carving
pioneers and top artists. Tool and wood vendors also exhibit,
and free demonstrations happen throughout the weekend.
Proceeds from the show are donated to a local charity, United
Rehabilitation Services. Since beginning Artistry in Wood, the
Carvers Guild has donated more than $120,000 to charity.
In addition to being a terrific consumer show, Artistry
in Wood hosts a competition that attracts a large number of
carvers. Varying skill levels are welcome across a variety of
categories, including pyrography.
