Syndrome of Inappropriate ADH Secretion
ОглавлениеWhen vasopressin is released in settings that are independent of osmotic or non-osmotic stimuli, the release is deemed to be “inappropriate.” The clinical counterpart to such a process is the hyponatremia of the syndrome of inappropriate ADH release (SIADH). Strictly speaking the syndrome does not involve solely water excess, but has a component of negative Na balance [25], illustrated in Figure 3d.
