REGULATION OF BODY TEMPERATURE
ОглавлениеThe millions of veins, capillaries and arteries that traverse the skin, together with the sweat glands, regulate our internal body temperature so that it remains constant, regardless of the external temperature. This is made possible by the contraction and expansion of these vessels as necessary (in cold and in heat respectively), and the production of perspiration by the sweat glands to cool the body down when it overheats.
