willow tree

Оглавление

what i never told you

underneath the willow tree

was that i love you

but not like ordinary love

we were only kids

we threw love like stones

skipping across a lake

of glass

we made days last forever

and nights smelled of caramel

and popcorn

the skies lit up with fireworks…

then you left

saying goodbye isn't the same

as forgetting

i find our initials carved

into the skin

of the same willow tree

years later

after several attempts at love

and i remember the night you left

we were only kids

we carelessly held onto love

like ice cream

melting down the cone

getting our hands sticky…

forgetting is not the same

as goodbye
