One Way Ticket
ОглавлениеShe purchased a one-way ticket,
to a destination that doesn’t exist.
The engines roar in her coach compartment,
where she sits with all her worldly belongings.
At each stop the train whistle blows,
a signal of the daunting unknown.
Travelers board the mysterious train,
loudly stumbling about the cabin,
each clutching a one-way ticket,
to a destination that doesn’t exist.
A boyish concierge passes out of sight,
as she counts the hours that slowly tick by,
venturing into a dark and ominous country side.
The lights of the train car flicker on and off,
traveling on broken and rickety tracks, she looks on.
Soaring high over the mountains and cliffs,
with a one-way ticket to a destination that doesn’t exist.
