CHAPTER 2 ANT STRUCTURE
ОглавлениеTHIS is no more than a brief account of the main structural features of females (queens and workers) and their larvae. Males and pupae are only treated superficially. Myrmica rubra will be used as a type; it is a fairly unspecialized species whose structure was meticulously studied by Charles Janet at the end of the nineteenth century. Some of his diagrams have been adapted and reproduced here.
