Take Responsibility

You did something, and you

tried to blame someone else.

Maybe you had a sibling

named “I Dunno” as in:

“Who made this mess?”

“I Dunno!”

You may have thought your

parents had the word STUPID

stamped on their foreheads but

they knew,

and you were told to

“Take Responsibility.”

I have spent time with thousands of seminar attendees, conference goers, and clients, and the thing that concerns me most about our society and where it is going over the next 20 years is

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

It would seem these days that the majority of people think someone else should be responsible for everything.

Here are some shocking real life examples I have experienced recently with clients and attendees:

A client paid for 12 hours of coaching and only used 2 hours of time in a year because “they were too busy to get coaching”

25 people registered AND PAID for a webinar, and 14 showed up

A client who has a library of development resources that he admitted he has never looked at

A classroom attendee asked her boss if she should spend $40 on a book that would help her

Talk is cheap, and paying for a book is easy, but taking action is required and the only way to get results.

What will it mean to you WHEN:

You stand out from the crowd?

You provide value to the people unlike what they have experienced?

 You create customers for life?

You create a Personal Brand and reputation that is so strong you never have to market yourself because everyone else does it for you?

If you want to be successful and generate the kind of results you deserve, you are probably screaming YES to each of these. Well then:

Take Responsibility

Take 100% responsibility for everything you are and everything you do.

Here is a list of some of the items you need to take complete responsibility for in your own world:

 Your Health

 Your Wealth

 Your Fitness

 Your Skills and Personal Development

 Your Time

 Your Attitude

 Your Motivation

 Your Focus

 Your Friends

 Your Relationships

 Your Life

Notice that it is completely up to you.

I guarantee very few things but I will guarantee this:

If you are blaming others for ANYTHING, you will NOT be successful

When it comes to how the World sees you, there is another list of items you need to take 100% responsibility for:

 Your Personal Brand

 Your Image

 Your Appearance

 Your Products and Services

 Your Accuracy AND Your Mistakes

PLEASE NOTE: The preceding lists are not complete. When you want to be successful you need to take responsibility for EVERYTHING in your world, from who you are, to how others see you, to everything you touch.

Being a successful grown-up is a LOT of responsibility.

While it is important to take responsibility there are some things that are outside of your control. In situations where you have no control over an issue or event and cannot take ultimate responsibility, you can take responsibility for how YOU react and how you present your reactions.

You get to choose; blame others or be successful by

Taking Responsibility!
