Decorative

Оглавление

Lighting for decorative purposes should not to be ignored. Whether it be the sparkle of a glass chandelier or party lights from colour-changing LED lamps splashed across a wall, decorative lighting is an extension of interior decoration that complements the paint and fabrics.

On TV in the past, the only LEDs you might have been familiar with were the micro star type that sits inside a rubber grommet. These tiny lights can be fixed (with the grommet acting as the nut) to any surface to create something individual. They are extremely flexible. As with any kind of light, you should place it or shade it to prevent the light from shining directly into your eyes. LEDs can be fitted into floors as uplights, but if you do this they really can only be installed around the perimeter so that they illuminate the wall. Anything else will be irritating for your eyes, if not damaging your retinas. Although not quite as harmful as laser beams, they are very intense light sources and you should never look directly into them.

Flexible fittings for individual LEDs

For decorative light to work well, the level of ambient light in the room should be low, enabling it to be seen to its best effect. LEC decor lighting is now replacing fibre-optic lights for creating art in you home and they are both brilliant eco-friendly solutions.
