Present Perfect obejmuje przedział czasu ciągnący się od przeszłości do teraźniejszości, jest niejako pomostem między przeszłością a teraźniejszością. Ma zastosowania częściowo zbieżne z zasięgiem użycia czasu teraźniejszego jak również przeszłego w języku polskim. Present Perfect nie występuje z takimi określeniami czasu jak: yesterday, last year, two days ago, last Monday, when I was a child, then.
