Anonymous figures surf the Internet every day to pursue their secret fantasies undetected.

Chief Inspector Gwendolyn Fisher, a single mother, has recently lost her beloved husband. She is trying to get her life back under control when the perpetrator strikes for the first time. Together with her partner Superintendent Stefan Schick, she tries to pick up the trail of the killer when he slays again. Unusual places where corpses are found and very different approaches to the murders don’t show any connection, but nevertheless the two soon get the idea that this must be a serial killer.
