This cute character can be used any number of

ways. Relief-carve an ornament, add dimension

for a one-sided decoration, or use the pattern as

inspiration for a freestanding sculpture. Carve

the outline into a block of wood or rubber stamp

blank and print cards (see page 64 for details).

Use a scroll saw to cut the perimeter and

various accent pieces (scarf, heart, and holly)

from thin plywood and layer them together.

Or, cut the elements out of paper to craft

cards. For any project, you can mix and

match the decorative elements to suit

your taste—for example, simplify the

design by removing the heart, holly,

glove, and ornament; replace the holly

on the hat with the heart; or leave off the

glove and replace the hat pompom

with the ornament.
