Propranolol (120–240 mg divided into three doses daily) is considered a well-established, first-line treatment for ET [18–20]. Long-acting formulation can be used to reduce the number of daily intakes and, thus improve compliance. The other beta-blockers should be used as second-line treatments, considering arotinolol and sotalol as the most effective agents [20].
