Biochemical Assays and Other Measurements
ОглавлениеBlood was drawn from each patient before the first weekly hemodialysis session, and their clinical and laboratory data were recorded in our database. The baseline characteristics included: age (years), sex (male/female), number of diabetic patients, SBP (mm Hg), DBP (mm Hg), hemoglobin (g/dL) concentration, serum concentrations of albumin (g/dL), corrected Ca (mg/dL), P (mg/dL), magnesium (Mg; mg/dL), alkaline phosphatase (IU/L), intact PTH (pg/mL), and the numbers of patients administered an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent, renin-angiotensin system inhibitor, cinacalcet, or VDRA (oral or i.v.). Assays were performed using a standard biochemical analyzer (Hitachi 7810 Auto Analyzer, Tokyo, Japan). Intact PTH (normal range, 10–65 pg/mL) was measured by CLEIA using a commercial kit (Beckman Coulter, CA, USA), with a sensitivity of 1 pg/mL. Serum FGF23 was measured by a sandwich-type ELISA (Kainos, Tokyo, Japan) that detects the intact molecule.
