The starting pH of untreated skin-mimic collagen film surface was measured in multiple locations using the flat Skinchek electrode giving a pH range of 4.1–4.5. Data in Table 3 show that there was no significant change in the acidic pH of the skin-mimic film when emollient is applied to the opposite side. Any pH variations in these data sets are similar to pH variation found when measuring different locations in untreated collagen skin-mimic film.
