ОглавлениеStationary source emissions in Mexico are regulated by the Secretaria del Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT – Secretariat of the Environment and Natural Resources). CEM systems were required in 1995 for glass manufacturing plants for monitoring NOx, CO, and O2. CEM systems for monitoring NOx and O2 were required for large thermoelectric plants in 1995, and SO2 and opacity monitors were required in a 2011 revision of the standard. In 2002, CEM systems for CO and O2 were required for waste incineration plants. In cement plants, if 15–30% of the fuels combusted are nonconventional fuels, continuous monitoring is required for CO, HCl, NOx, SO2, THC, and O2 (CMIC 2020).
It is only required to validate CEM systems in the incineration and thermoelectric plant regulations, where the U.S. performance specifications of 40 CFR 60 Appendix B are referenced.
