VIEWING WILDLIFE
ОглавлениеGenerally, early morning and late afternoon are the best times to spot wildlife, but minimizing noise is always helpful. When encountering wildlife, enjoy from a distance (binoculars work well), please don’t feed the wildlife (it will only hurt their future survivability), and make sure your dog is leashed (wildlife have enough challenges already). The Park Service recommends remaining 50 feet (about one bus length) from birds, reptiles, and small mammals, 150 feet from seals, and 100 feet from deer, foxes, and other large mammals. In addition to adhering to these distance recommendations, please view animals from the trail rather than trampling vegetation to get a better look.
