Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) conserves and stewards Maine’s coastal lands and islands for their renowned scenic beauty, ecological value, outdoor recreational opportunities, and contribution to community well-being. Building on Acadia’s proud tradition of land conservation, the trust began in 1970 to help the park add land and acquire conservation easements. Supported by members, MCHT is now a statewide land trust that invites the public to explore its network of preserves from Casco Bay to Eastport, including many properties in the Acadia region.
