12-20 go-bar rods are needed. Professional go-bars are fiberglass, but strips of straight grained wood (4mm x 8mm for softwoods, 2.5mm x 8mm for hardwoods) or dowels (6mm) work fine. They should be 40-45cm long. Flex the strips by hand to get an idea of the elasticity of the wood; avoid woods with little memory, which after a few minutes under flexion exert significantly less clamping pressure.

Go-bar deck

Whittle down the tips to allow access for cleaning up glue squeeze-out when bracing the top.

Make a roof that is rigid enough to resist the pressure from the go-bar rods. 30cm x 48cm x 2 (or more) cm.

Use the slots in the solera for the vertical supports. Find the positions of the holes by centering the solera on the roof of the go-bar deck, then drill the holes in the roof (1.0mm oversize).

An alternative to the go-bar deck for gluing the struts and bars to the top is to use wooden cam clamps.
