Some examples:

•I’d like to rent a medium-sized saloon car for the weekend, please.

•I’d like to rent a convertible.

•What is the charge per day?

•Are there any extras to pay?

•How much is the deposit?

•When do I have to return the car?

•Does the car use petrol (US: gas or gasoline), lead-free petrol (US: leadfree gasoline) or diesel?

Figure 2.1.12b: Business travel has to be prepared carefully. To rent a car, showing your passport is obligatory. Having sunglasses with you is usually helpful.

You may be asked:

•Can you give me your passport please?

•Can I see your driving licence (US: driver’s license)?

•Would you like to have (fully) comprehensive insurance /coverage?

•Do you need third-party, fire and theft insurance? [1]
