Оглавление

1. Read the text and try to figure out the meaning of the highlighted words.

In today’s society, there are many different personalities and characteristics that people possess. They have their genesis in a multitude of factors, including genetics, upbringing, and life experiences. Some individuals may be perfectionists, always striving for excellence in everything they do. Others may be more spontaneous, going with the flow and living in the moment. There are also those who are submissive, preferring to follow rather than lead.

One thing that is substantially important for all individuals is having a vision for their future. A visionary person can see beyond the present moment and has a clear idea of what they want to achieve in life. They have the ability to grasp opportunities, set goals and work towards them with dedication and determination.

Another important trait is decency. Being decent means treating others with respect and kindness, regardless of their background or beliefs. It is an ethical value that should be upheld at all times.

On the other hand, egoism is a negative characteristic that can hinder personal growth and relationships with others. People who are too self-centered often lack empathy and disregard the feelings of others. It is important to balance one’s own needs with the needs of those around them.

In today’s hyper-connected world, it is easy to get caught up in materialistic values and lose sight of what truly matters. However, it is important to stay grounded and appreciate the rarity of true connections that come from genuine human interaction. Fleeting moments of joy may come from material goods, but lasting happiness comes from within.

In conclusion, there are many different traits and values that make up a person’s personality. By striving for decency, empathy, and ethical behavior, we can create a formidable force for positive change in the world. By pursuing our vision with dedication and resilience, we can achieve great things and create real masterpieces.
