T I N Y
Tiny has a recurring dream with a train station in it. She stands in the middle of a raised platform, and cars bang by on either side. Tin can snakes with gray stripes. It is not impossible to jump in front of them. There would be a smash, and then a fall to the hard floor. Most likely a death.
In the dream, Tiny stands in-between the trains for a while. They zoom in opposite directions, and they keep coming, like popcorn from the movie theatre kettle. A black button-up glove lies scrunched on the platform. People hold grocery bags and electric bouquets of yellow roses. Tiny sees babies, dogs with chests round and hard as twenty-five cent toy capsules, and people she could love. They might see her too. She doesn’t know for sure. Instead of moving or dying, Tiny just stands there. She stays. It’s a dream.
