Naming something doesn’t mean you understand it. You need to watch for a while too, and look for patterns. When Tiny started her period, which is one fact about her body, she thought about the rhythm of it. Every month a circle, in the end. An ocean, froth and spit. Sometimes Tiny catches the blood in a cup, to pour on plants outside.
The blood drips down. Descent. Tiny is descending. This means both inheritance and evasion. She pictures herself winding down a staircase, face changing with every step. She pictures joy, depression, and money.
