gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and those who harass Judah will be cut off; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah and Judah will not harass Ephraim. They will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines on the west; together they will plunder the sons of the east; they will possess Edom and Moab and the sons of Ammon will be subject to them” (NASB). The nations looked upon Israel as being small and insignificant, but they forgot one important thing: the God of Israel is also the LORD God of the universe.

Because of hatred and a grudge that passed down through the ages, the Cherethims (Cherethites) who were close allies of the Philistines joined forces with them to fight against Israel without a cause. The delay of the LORD’S judgment on Edom, the Philistine and their allies the Cherethites, would one day be recompensed and this would be a sign to all that the downfall of the enemies of Israel was not by tactical maneuvers, but by the favor of Abba Father because they were outnumbered in battle.
