This text is organized into fifteen chapters, each beginning with a brief description of the chapter contents, followed by a list of primary chapter objectives and outcomes. Each chapter highlights and defines important terms, which are bolded in the text. Chapters also include components designed to guide the reader to specific topics of importance, including chapter objectives, key concepts, examples with ArcGIS software, review questions, additional readings and references, and relevant websites. To provide the reader flexibility in exploring specific topics, each chapter is written as a stand-alone unit; although, references to related chapters are provided when appropriate.
