Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a strategy of the Chinese president Xi Jinping launched in 2013 that, from a geopolitical foundation, emphasizes the importance of Eurasia to consolidate a Chinese-Centric system. Through BRI, the Asian giant seeks to achieve its national priorities (economic growth, stability of its political regime, among others) and face its geopolitical challenges. In this way, it manages to influence the new international power’s configuration, which has an impact on Latin America.
