ОглавлениеHaving good posture
Keep to one vantage point
It is important to keep your vantage point consistent.
Once you choose to draw at a certain angle, stick to that
angle and view position. If you keep changing positions,
you will lose the perspective you were using.
When drawing objects on the table
Sit squarely in your chair and keep your back straight.
Keep your face at a right angle to the paper—refer to
image below.
When using an easel
Set the object at a 45 degree angle to the easel. Set the
object in front of you, where you can easily view it. It
is also important to set the object on the proper side. If
you place the object on the same side that you hold your
pencil, your viewpoint may shift. Be mindful of where
you place the object.
Drawing incorporates your hands, eyes and brain. It
is quite work, so take 10 minute breaks every hour.
Taking proper breaks is the
shortcut to improvement.
Positioning your subject
Place the object directly in front of you instead of
to the side. Set your eraser and other tools on the
side you find convenient.
