THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Оглавление

Bull Terriers have a strong need for human companionship and should be kept as house dogs—never chained or tethered outdoors. They do not tolerate temperature extremes (both heat and cold) for long periods of time and prefer comfortable conditions. If your dog plays outdoors, off leash, your yard must be fenced or enclosed securely. Even obedience-trained Bull Terriers should not be taken off your property without a leash. They should be taken on regular walks on a sturdy lead. Bull Terriers can easily slip a regular collar, which can result in disaster in an unrestricted area, as the first thing your Bull Terrier will do is start hunting—such as anything passing by—a nearby squirrel, rabbit or, worse, a car. Some breeders recommend choke collars (used properly) for regular walks while other have found success attaching the lead to a sturdy harness.
