Case IH is still producing tractors.
Well-known English manufacturer David Brown was acquired by Case owners Tenneco in 1972, and the Case 94-series was launched in 1983 to replace the David Brown 90-series. Initially offered in Case white, black and red livery, the tractors were updated and turned out in red, black and silver under the Case IH name following the takeover of International by Case in 1985.
The 1394 featured a 72 hp turbocharged 3.59-litre fourcylinder engine. It was available with the standard synchromesh transmission or the Hydra-Shift transmission which gave four on-the-move clutchless changes in 3 forward ratios and 1 reverse.
This particular 1394, equipped with flotation tyres and working with a Nodet Gougis fertiliser spreader, is a Commemorative Edition example. It was produced to celebrate over 50 years of David Brown in 1988 when the factory was finally closed.
