CHILDREN

Оглавление

Some of the community’s children were physically stressed. About half of the leg and arm bones that were radiographed showed growth arrest lines, and over half of the crania showed signs of anemia. The bone growth was not maintaining the expected pace. This and other evidence suggest these children may have needed care during prolonged bouts of ill health, and while it’s not possible to determine causes of death, the episodes appear to have been more often chronic than acute. The healed adult leg fracture, like this evidence from the children, attests to the long-term care available to a person who had a long period of illness.
