ОглавлениеFor the normal average skin pH of 4.9 endogenous compounds with a pKa in that range are most important to create a buffer with an appropriate buffer capacity like that of urocanic acid and fatty acids.
Emollients with a pH slightly more acidic than the average normal pH have been found to be beneficial in several physiologic conditions and diseases and could be used in babies to prevent Atopic March and in the elderly, in dry skin, and eczema. However, it is important to adjust an appropriate buffer capacity of the emollient preparation.
