Tobacco is the single most important modifiable risk factor for UADT cancers. Tobacco may be smoked, chewed, or absorbed as snuff and smoking is considered the single most important risk factor associated with UADT cancer [48, 49]. Quitting smoking tobacco shows a beneficial effect on the risk at all sites for the development of UADT [50].
