The Patient

Оглавление

It is important that all patients suspected of a hypopharyngeal cancer should have a detailed history, documentation of symptoms and signs, followed by a thorough examination including endoscopy, followed by relevant imaging and endoscopy, and relevant biopsies of suspicious areas to ensure that a malignancy is proven with the minimum of patients inconvenience and discomfort. The decision to manage all patients should be made by the multidisciplinary team that meets and all of the relevant information must be discussed in detail to optimise their future quantity and quality of survival (Table 1).
