This book is the 20th edition of the Yearbook of Arboriculture. It is dedicated to PROF. DR. HEINZ BUTIN, who has now been carrying out research for more than 60 years and has had great influence on woody plant pathology and tree care. It contains 29 publications about arboriculture based on the results of most recent research projects and new practical experience. The directory has been updated and contains the addresses of organisations and research institutions, tree care companies and authorised experts as well as of providers of products and services. The overall index includes a detailed register of catchwords and authors of the 20 editions of this book series published so far.

Being the editor of the yearbook I would like to thank all authors for the high-quality articles and the editorial board for the conscientious review of the manuscripts. I thank MARTINA BOROWSKI for taking care of all editorial matters and the long-time cooperation.
