Vormoderne Sprechaktanalysen als Herausforderung für die moderne Sprechakttheorie

Оглавление

Simon Meier

Abstract: This contribution focusses on historical analyses of speech acts, that is theoretical reflections on speech speech acts like promises and threats, as they can be found in the works of premodern authors like Aquinas, Thomas Hobbes, Samuel Pufendorf and others. It is shown that some major traits of modern speech act theory, namely the formulation of felicity conditions, seems to be anticipated in the premodern analyses. However, there are differences, too: While modern speech act theory seeks to ground the rules and classification of speech acts in individual psychological states like preferences and interests, premodern analyses are oriented towards objective lawfulness. Thus, some presuppositions of modern speech act theory turn out to be historically bound and discursively shaped.
