history

Before this area was a golf course, it was heavily wooded and overgrown. When the developers purchased the land, they needed to clear the area out to create the course. As they were clearing the land, they discovered a homeless African American man who had been living in the woods. He was not in good shape, and the only information they could glean from him was that his name was Jim.

Due to his apparently poor health, they immediately sent him to a hospital, but it was too late. The man died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

ghost story

The golf course is haunted by the ghost of the homeless man who was discovered here. Apparently, he doesn’t like golfers much. Every once in a while, someone on the course will see an African American man who walks across a fairway before mysteriously vanishing. These sightings are few and far between though, and most of the paranormal activity has to do with the actual playing of the game.

Apparently, Jim doesn’t like golfers getting the ball in the hole. Sometimes, people will place a nice shot that goes right in the hole, and then the ball will simply jump back out of the hole by itself. Other times, people will putt the ball in a straight line towards the hole, and it will seem sure to go in. Suddenly though, the ball will veer off to the right or left as if someone had walked up to the ball and kicked it away.

visiting

In order to experience the ghostly happenings on this golf course, you will have to play a round of golf, so contact the course and reserve a tee time. For a full round of golf, it costs $37, and for 9 holes of golf, it costs $19. It’s a beautiful course that is well worth the money—and if you play a bad game, you can always just blame Jim.
