2.1.8 Talking about systems (M)

Оглавление

In this chapter you will learn to present information. [8]

First, how to introduce the topic: I’m going to talk about/ explain/ outline/ describe ...

For example: I’m going to describe how to cut costs by setting up a standard parts library1. [12]

Second, mapping the talk: I’ll start by..., then I’ll go on to...., I’ll also...., finally....

For example: I’ll start by introducing the topic, then I’ll go on to present the current situation, I’ll also describe what challenges we have to deal with, finally I’ll present some interesting solutions.

How to classify information: Examples:

•There are (two) types of/ kinds of/ sorts of connections, the pipe connections2 and the screw connections,

•Standard parts can be/are divided into (five) types/ categories: springs, sleeves3, cap screws4, nuts5, pegs and bolts6

•Symbols and functional groups7 come into the first category8 of CAD libraries [12]

How to give examples:

For example, under pipe connections we understand brake pipes9, coolant pipes10, and radiator pipes11.

•As fixing elements use press buttons, clamps12 and clips13 for instance

•Symbols, such as welding symbols and drawing symbols are stored in the database. [12]
