7. SLOWING TIME

Оглавление

I guess the intensive talks and deeper understanding of love came a bit later in my journey. The first month of our meeting, we were in Thailand, and I was floating into that reality with a fully carefree mindset.

Happy seemed super carefree himself. He didn’t have a phone, there wasn’t any water or electricity in his villa, and he was always super happy to be on the beach at any time.

I remember him vividly – in leopard-printed swimming shorts, with his long, slim body and toned abs, a happy smile on his face (and tattooed on his neck), hugging the ground. Motionless. I could leave him lying down and find him at the same spot hours later, possibly in the same position.

He was really serious about contact with the planet and nature. He had his own way of it. Even though I was already feeling beautiful feelings toward nature, I didn’t fully get back then how deeply connected he was.

He often gets super excited about the big rocks we see around the island. Pointing towards the big ones as we pass by, to show me too, with big excitement.

Contarary to me, he was far away from being a spiritual hippie— not doing ceremonies, yoga, or even reading books in general. Yet he was super equipped with different kinds of information about the planet and life on it.

The more time I had with him, the more I started to understand that all the information I had been seeking from books, teachers, and gurus was coming to him from his inner world.

As if he had some type of inner internet, downloading all the information directly into his consciousness. And slowing his time was his key to tapping into it.

By living as an example of slowness, Happy shared with me the opportunity to tap into the magic of life. When I stopped rushing and consciously slowed my time, I began to catch glimpses of “alive moments” – aligning myself with a slower frequency of being.

And when I dare to think about the very smart, rooted characters – especially the feminine, even fictional, ones I had the chance to look up to – I recall that they were all far from being reactive or fast. They were mostly observant, deeply aware of themselves, and tuned into the energy of their environment, of nature, and of the alive beings around them.

It may sound simple, yet how many times could I truly say I had slowed time completely – to share my full attention with the earth, with the ocean, or to look at a dog and understand her beautiful inner world while being fully myself?

What if we all have that inner internet and haven’t figured out how to fully tap into it for longer periods of our lives?
