At the Library

Оглавление

История

Maria is studying Russian literature for her university exams, and she decides to visit the library to find a copy of Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin. She enters the library and walks up to the front desk, where a librarian greets her.

"Good morning! How can I help you today?" the librarian asks.

"Hi! I’m looking for Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin. Do you have it in the library?" Maria asks.

"Of course! We have several copies," the librarian replies. "It’s a great classic. Follow me, I’ll show you where it is."

Maria follows the librarian to the Russian literature section. The librarian points to a shelf filled with books in both Russian and English. "Here it is," the librarian says, pulling out a copy of the book. "This edition is in English, but we also have the original Russian version."

Maria is excited. "I’d love to read the original, but I’m not sure if I can understand it yet," she says.

"No worries! This English translation is great, and it will help you understand the story," the librarian assures her. "Many people start with the translation and then move on to the original."

"Thank you! I’ll take this English edition for now," Maria says, smiling.

"Great choice," the librarian says. "Would you like to check it out now?"

"Yes, please," Maria replies.

She walks to the front desk, hands over her library card, and checks out the book.

"The due date is in two weeks," the librarian says as she scans the book.

"Thanks so much!" Maria replies. "I’m looking forward to reading it."

"Enjoy the book!" the librarian says with a smile as Maria leaves the library, excited to dive into one of Russia’s greatest literary works.
